History
From the 14th to the 18th century, counts and lords took turns ruling Montagny-les-Lanches. A former fortified house complex was first converted into a cheese dairy and later became the present-day town hall of Montagny-les-Lanches.
The canon and lawyer Poncet, a specialist in Gothic Revival architecture, asked his friend Thomas Ruphy, an architect from Annecy, to draw up the plans for the church of Montagny-les-Lanches. The Gothic Revival church was rebuilt in 1881 on the site of an older chapel.
