Culture
The main construction phases of the Chapelle Saint-Etienne de Marin date from the 12th and 13th centuries. The Église de Marin houses an ornately carved baptismal font from the 14th century. The church is also associated with the pilgrimage to Sainte Anne, which takes place every year on 26 July.
Nature
Circular trail no. 2, “Le bois des pins”, is 5.2 kilometres long; the stated walking time is 2 hours and 45 minutes. It leads to geological formations known as “demoiselles coiffées”. These formations, shaped by erosion, are located above Marin’s municipal forest on the banks of the Dranse.
The Forêt de Marin combines varied deciduous forests with Scots pine and spruce and offers views of Lake Geneva. This forest is home to protected animal and plant species. Another trail connection is circular trail no. 3, “Les moulins du Maravant”: along it, you can see the remains of the mills hidden in a valley on the Maravant.
The “Tour des Vignes de Marin” leads through forests, vineyards and meadows. The landscapes change along the way, with beautiful views of the Dranse Valley, the Dent d'Oche and Lake Geneva.
Wine and Terroir
Domaine Delalex is a 9-hectare family-run wine-growing estate in Marin. The estate mainly produces a dry, fruity white wine from the Chasselas grape variety. Domaine Delalex offers visitors wine tastings; the estate’s wine-growing methods are also presented there.
