History
Château-Gaillard, also known as Chastel-Gaillard, was built in the 13th century by the Counts of Geneva as a fortified settlement that controlled the land and river routes to Geneva. In the Middle Ages, the Château-Gaillard fortress housed a garrison of 3,000 men.

Culture
The Église Saint Pierre is a neo-Gothic church built in 1879–1880. The Église Saint Pierre features stained-glass windows depicting multicoloured flames.
The Tour de Naz is the last surviving trace of the possessions of the de Naz family. The tower was rebuilt above vaulted underground rooms dating from the 14th century. The interior of the Tour de Naz cannot be visited; the surrounding area is accessible during the Roseraie’s opening hours.
The Pavillon Stéphane Hessel was built above medieval vaulted cellars. The Roseraie du Pavillon offers a tour through the history of roses from antiquity to the present day, with seven themed areas, and is open to the public year-round.
