Nature
In 2019, the spruce trees planted in the 1970s were removed from the Tourbière de La Rochette. The aim was to restore the peat bog’s natural function and original appearance. It subsequently developed back into a mosaic of different habitats shaped by water.
The Circuit de Tempoyrac also passes through environmentally sensitive areas, including the Gerbier Mézenc Sensitive Natural Area (ENS).
Hiking
The Circuit de Tempoyrac circular hiking trail is moderately difficult, 5.9 km long and takes around two hours. It includes a stated ascent of 222 m and descent of 220 m. The Circuit de Tempoyrac is considered a family-friendly, easily accessible hike and starts in La Rochette.
The Circuit de Tempoyrac starts and ends at the Eglise de la Rochette. Parking is available below the Eglise de la Rochette for the route. It is signposted with yellow-and-white trail markers and, from Reynaud, follows a path through the forest to Lioussac.
