Hiking

The Échenevex–Branveau–Montchanais hike leads to the summit of Mont Chanais at 1,446 m, offering hikers a 360-degree view. The route runs through the Parc naturel régional du Haut-Jura Regional Nature Park and partly through the Réserve naturelle nationale de la Haute Chaîne du Jura National Nature Reserve. It is rated difficult, is 14.6 km long and has 866 m of elevation gain and 866 m of descent.

The Promenade des Sources de l’Allondon is a family-friendly riverside walking trail. It includes a themed trail focusing on the importance of water and mills.

Local Life

The Chalet de la Chenaillette is a typical example of the traditional architectural heritage of the Haute Chaîne du Jura.

The P’tit Marché du Jeudi in Échenevex takes place every Thursday, including public holidays, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the Place de la Mairie, whatever the weather. The market includes a mobile grocery stall selling meat, cheese, butter and various local products. There are also various dishes prepared on site, crêpes and pizzas.
