Location and landscape
Cierp-Gaud is framed by the peaks of Pic du Gar, which reach heights of up to 1,785 m. Lac de Rouziet is a small lowland lake in the Garonne Valley. The landscape also includes the giant sequoia of Cierp-Gaud, which received the “Arbre Remarquable de France” label in October 2015.
Culture and history
The Château de Cierp-Gaud was built around 1591; only its tower dates back to the original construction period. The Chapelle Soueste was rebuilt in 1843. Access to it leads from the exit of the Gaud-Dessus district at the first intersection via the Michou et Gérard path. Other places of interest in Cierp-Gaud include the Tour Montclar and the Roman road.
Leisure and activities
Lac de Rouziet is mainly used as a tourist fishing course and as a fishing area for learning how to fish. It has an adapted Handipêche fishing pier.
