Landscape and bodies of water

Campuac is located on the granite plateau of Haut-Rouergue. The surrounding landscape also includes the Plan d’eau de Campuac, which is accessible year-round and equipped for anglers and walkers. Fishing is also possible there year-round in a body of water classified as a second-category fishery.

Culture and history

In the municipality of Campuac, on the D904 between Villecomtal and Entraygues, near the village of Lagarrigue, stands the Jean-Jacques Anquetin stele. It commemorates a 17-year-old Maquisard of the Compagnie Fred du Maquis de Pradels, who fell in combat against the enemy.

In the hamlet of La Garrigue is La Chevêche, a small, equipped theater. Readings as well as small theatrical, musical, and shadow-theater performances are offered there. Another special feature of Campuac is the Quillodrom: it hosts numerous competitions in the Quilles-de-huit sport throughout the year and is used on 48 weekends a year.

The upper part of the nave contains six circular stained-glass windows. Each of these windows represents one of the six days of creation.

In the wider region around Lagarrigue, Conques, with its medieval village and the Basilica of Sainte-Foy, is one of the attractions.
