Coast and Nature

From Roccapina to Santa Giulia, the southern coast borders the Bouches de Bonifacio Nature Reserve and the land section of the International Marine Park established in 2012. Inland, Roccapina extends across more than 500 hectares of maquis dotted with tafoni. Roccapina Bay includes a beach, dunes and small wetlands.

Below a granite, lion-shaped ridge, Roccapina has a light-sand bay with turquoise water. Baracci Beach is located in a protected natural landscape, where swimming, relaxation and coastal walks are possible. The Bay of Santa Giulia in southern Corsica has a white sandy beach and clear blue sea.

Culture and Trails

In Roccapina, an approximately 30-minute path through the maquis leads to viewpoints with panoramic views and a large tafone. The Casa di Roccapina, affiliated with the Prehistoric Museum of Sartène, offers visits with an audio guide or guided by staff, as well as an Oriu shepherd's shelter reconstructed outdoors.

The free Un caminu di a Punta trail from the car park on the RT40 includes a 45-minute walk through the maquis and cultural heritage. The Campomoro Tower was built in 1583 at a preserved coastal site with numerous small coves. The Fautea–Lavu Santu route runs between Fautea Beach and Lavu Santu, also known as the Beach of the Americans.

The UNESCO-listed Gulf of Porto area extends across the departments of Corse-du-Sud and Haute-Corse and was inscribed in 1983.
