Winter and mountain connections

The ski jumping hill complex on the Horečky in Frenštát pod Radhoštěm was built in the 1960s: the first hill (K = 43 m) was completed in 1968, followed by two more hills (K = 72 m and K = 90 m) in 1969. Since 1973, ski jumping competitions of the GRAND PRIX have been held there regularly. Jiří Raška is particularly associated with the complex on the Horečky and the ski jumping hills in Frenštát pod Radhoštěm.

Culture

The parish church of St. Martin in Frenštát pod Radhoštěm is registered as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic and is regularly used for services, concerts and other events. It is a single-nave building with Baroque features, a projecting square tower, an onion dome and Rococo furnishings.

The Frenštát pod Radhoštěm Museum has nine exhibitions on the individual floors and three exhibition halls on the ground floor for temporary exhibitions, lectures and audiovisual programmes. It offers unguided tours and texts in foreign languages.

Trails and views

The green-marked hiking trail to the observation tower on Velký Javorník begins at the Frenštát pod Radhoštěm railway station and leads directly there.

The Beskydské nebe educational trail is located on the Horečky at the border between Frenštát pod Radhoštěm and Trojanovice. It has eight stations and includes an 85-metre-long accessible treetop walkway that is open seasonally. The excursion along the Beskydské nebe educational trail is designated as a hiking and cycling excursion and runs for 3.4 km from the car park near the ski jumping hill back to this car park.

The town hall tower of Frenštát pod Radhoštěm is usually opened to the public during the tourism season and serves as an observation tower with views of the Beskydy panorama.

Leisure

Frenštát Aquapark offers a multi-purpose pool and a swimming pool, heated water, refreshments, seating and a volleyball court. The aquapark also has a children's pool. There is also a 60-metre-long and 5.8-metre-high water slide, as well as a two-lane water slide with a slide length of 13.1 metres.
