Ochsengarten: Valley run to the accommodations and access to Hochoetz

Ochsengarten has the only valley run in the ski area that leads directly to the accommodations. With the modern 8-person gondola lifts operated by Bergbahnen Oetz, you can get from Ochsengarten to the family-friendly Hochoetz ski region in 8 minutes. This means that choosing this location offers two clearly described points of orientation: the valley run down to the accommodations and direct gondola access to the ski region.

• A free shuttle bus runs every half hour from Ochsengarten to Kühtai and back.
• The Ochsengarten–Feldring Alm toboggan run is 2.2 km long and leads from the serviced Feldring Alm at 1,888 m to Sattele at 1,690 m.
• Along the Ochsengarten winter loop trail – No. 420, the Ötztal Nature Park offers guided evening snowshoe hikes.
• In summer, the Ochsengartenbahn provides direct access to the Hochoetz hiking region.

Winter access and choice of location

The documented valley run leads directly to the accommodations. In addition, access to the Hochoetz ski region is available via the 8-person gondola lifts operated by Bergbahnen Oetz. The free shuttle bus to Kühtai provides another connection and runs every half hour in both directions. These options are not the same: the valley run describes the return from the ski area, the gondola lift provides access to Hochoetz, and the bus provides the connection to Kühtai. Hochoetz is a family-friendly ski region. This does not describe childcare, ski schools, amenities, or the availability of individual accommodations.

Tobogganing and guided winter activities

Away from skiing, the 2.2 km Ochsengarten–Feldring Alm toboggan run is another winter activity. The route leads from the serviced Feldring Alm at 1,888 m to Sattele at 1,690 m. Feldring Alm can be reached from the Sattele car park via a forest road through the woods. Guided evening snowshoe hikes take place along the Ochsengarten winter loop trail – No. 420. These are guided hikes, not generally guaranteed access or a programme available at all times.

Summer activities and local character

Even outside the winter season, Ochsengarten remains connected to the Hochoetz hiking region via the Ochsengartenbahn. The summer activities include extensive high-altitude hikes in the hiking region around Hochoetz. Also connected by the Ochsengartenbahn are the Ninja Park, a floating climbing park at an altitude of 2,020 metres, and WIDIVERSUM with 36 play stations and a bistro. Ochsengarten is located in the Nedertal, a side valley of the Ötztal. The parish church stands directly on Kühtaistraße (L 237) and was built between 1778 and 1783 as a complex comprising the church, vicarage and schoolroom.
