Haiming: Apple Mile, village and accommodation
Accommodation in Haiming
Haiming in the Tyrolean district of Imst is a starting point for days on the Inn Cycle Path, a visit to the parish church and selected sporting activities. More than 60,000 apple and fruit trees shape the landscape. If you are looking for accommodation, first distinguish between the village of Haiming and the other places in the municipality. The old page description mentioned a GrĂĽnberg ski area; however, the currently verified local information provides neither piste nor lift details for it. A winter stay should therefore be assessed according to the ski area you actually plan to visit and how to access it, not on the basis of an unverified claim about the locality.

The Apple Mile and paths along the Inn
The Apple Mile combines a walk or a cycle tour described as family-friendly along the apple-tree-lined Inn Cycle Path with interactive information about apple growing. It is located directly on the Inn Cycle Path and can also be reached via the Ă–tztal Cycle Path. This makes it suitable both for travellers looking for a short scenic stop along the way and for those who want to learn more about apple growing. However, these route connections do not establish a fixed travel time, the length of the entire ride or year-round accessibility.
A circular route leads by bike through the village to the Waldbad sports centre. According to local information, Waldbad Haiming is open from early May to mid-September. It is therefore not a suitable swimming option for a winter holiday. Even if you are staying during the stated season, you should check the Waldbad’s specific opening days and conditions. The location of your accommodation also determines whether you head first to the Inn Cycle Path, the village or the sports centre.
Church, stone and Haiming traditions
Haiming parish church is dedicated to Saints Chrysanthus and Daria. Its first documented consecration took place in 1384. Inside the church, the historic stone floor is made of so-called “Haiming marble”, quarried below Magerbach. This connects a visible part of the building with local geology and craftsmanship; the year 1384 refers to the documented church consecration, not to the construction of every part of the building as it stands today.
The patronal feast is celebrated with a procession on the Sunday after 25 October. In addition, the Haiming market days take place every year on the second and third Saturdays in October. These are separate dates that may be relevant for an autumn trip. Kirchtagskrapfen filled with traditional poppy seeds are part of a custom still observed by some Haiming families. This does not mean they are available in restaurants every day, or that the same food is served at every church fair.
Via ferrata and choosing where to stay
The Geierwand via ferrata is 800 metres long and climbs approximately 400 metres in elevation. Its starting point is the car park at the Magerbach rafting centre in Haiming. Its length and elevation gain show that this is a different kind of activity from the Apple Mile; they are no substitute for checking current conditions, equipment requirements and personal suitability. Schloss Petersberg and Rauherkogel are also nearby. The available information confirms their regional connection, but does not establish that they are a short walk away or that there is a specific route to visit them from your accommodation.
The municipality also includes Ochsengarten and Ă–tztal Bahnhof. These separate pages for each locality can help you pinpoint accommodation; without additional facts about the locations, a general recommendation of one for skiers or the other for families would be unfounded. The overview of Imst district provides a broader regional perspective. When comparing hotels, holiday apartments or holiday homes, consider the specific address in relation to your plans, and check current offers and winter sports conditions separately.
