Präbichl combines a Funslope and a chairlift with marked hiking trails, an adventure park and activities at Grüblsee. If you are looking for accommodation for a ski holiday, it helps to first decide what you want to focus on during your stay: is it mainly the Funslope and mountain scenery, or would you also like to include hiking trails, ziplines and mountain carts? The activities vary in type and, in some cases, by season. Check lift operations and seasonal operator offerings for your travel dates so you can plan around the activities you have in mind.

Funslope, Chairlift and Marked Trails

The Funslope at Präbichl features several different terrain waves, small jumps and a giant snail with a tunnel. These features give a clear impression of what makes the Funslope distinctive.

The Einser chairlift travels at a speed of 2 m/s and covers the first 600 metres of elevation, reaching an altitude of almost 1,800 m. During the ride, it offers views of the surrounding mountains, including Erzberg. Operating times and conditions vary by season.

Numerous marked hiking trails of varying difficulty lead from the top station into the mountains around Präbichl. Trail conditions also vary by season. Two different hiking options are mentioned: the Erzwanderweg runs between Präbichl and Vordernberg-Markt and has a historical connection; the trails from the top station vary in difficulty. You can first consider whether a specific route or a choice of marked mountain trails is more important for your hike.

Adventure Park and Activities at Grüblsee

The Alpfox Adventure Park offers five different routes and stations for all ability levels. Flying-Foxi at Präbichl features six ziplines with a combined length of several hundred metres. They run up to 14 m above the crystal-clear waters of Grüblsee. The ALPFOX mountain carts offer three-wheeled, gravity-powered mountain cart adventures. These operator offerings may change seasonally, so check the dates for your stay.

Erzwanderweg, Dining and Getting There

The former Dulnig ore transport facility is the historical point of reference for the Erzwanderweg. The trail runs from Präbichl to Vordernberg-Markt. This named route therefore differs from the marked hiking trails of varying difficulty at the chairlift top station.

In summer, a small restaurant directly at Grüblsee offers a different selection of freshly prepared dishes every day. Seasonal opening and group arrangements may change. At the Präbichl Ski Arena, the summer food trailer “Silverfox” serves regional specialties from Upper Styria. Head chef Julia prepares many dishes fresh and from scratch—from the sauces to the patties. The two offerings therefore differ both in location and in the dishes described.

Bus route 820 connects Leoben railway station with Präbichl Passhöhe; the journey takes about 40 minutes. Check the timetable before travelling so you can coordinate your journey with the actual departure times.
