Hartelsberg
Accommodation in Hartelsberg
Hartelsberg combines a planned skiing holiday on the Koralpe with a varied hiking and cultural experience. The Koralpe ski area opens in December 2026 and offers excellently groomed pistes as well as plenty of space for winter sports enthusiasts.
Winter sports on the Koralpe
The Koralpe ski area is the main starting point for a skiing holiday in Hartelsberg. Its opening is scheduled for December 2026. This makes it possible to clearly plan the timing of the trip, while specific conditions on site will continue to depend on the respective winter season.
Hiking trails with different highlights
The Koralpe has an extensive regional hiking network. The panoramic trail to Goding leads from the Koralpe car park via hiking trail no. 4 to the Sonnhof inn on the Goding. Along this trail, you can enjoy views of the Lavant Valley. The panoramic circular hike also leads to the GroĆer Speikkogel, the highest point on this hike, at an elevation of 2,141 m.
Another option is the Koralpe circular tour. Its descent leads via the Poms Waterfall on trail no. 591 back to the starting point at the Koralpe car park. The hike to Poms Waterfall usually takes around 50 minutes. In the Koralpe hiking area, it starts at Hartelsberg 70, below the car park, on hiking trail no. 591. For visitors who want to include nature experiences alongside skiing, these specifically named trails provide a helpful basis for planning the day. A flower hike on the Koralpe also offers the opportunity to admire rare alpine plants.
Historic destinations around Hartelsberg
Hartneidstein Castle ruins, which are protected as a historic monument in the cadastral municipality of Hartelsberg, are an important cultural attraction. To reach the ruins, take the L140 towards Riegeldorf. In Riegelsdorf, follow the road to Hartelsberg and then the signs to the ruins. This makes it possible to plan the visit as a separate activity alongside winter sports and hiking.
Smaller examples of regional history can also be found along the hiking routes. The Husarkreuz is a larch-wood wayside shrine with a small wooden crucifix and was erected on June 15, 2002. A hiking trail leading from Wolfsberg passes the Husarkreuz and continues to the Lippi inn. The Binderkreuz has originally stood for around 150 years and was most recently renovated in 2009. It has been preserved even though the former farm building known locally as Binder no longer exists.
Choose accommodation according to your travel plans
