Pal combines Romanesque heritage with attractions including the Bosc dels Menairons walking trail and Pekepark. The village’s features appeal to different interests: Sant Climent offers insight into Romanesque architectural history, while the trail and snow park each offer something for families with young children.

Romanesque architectural history in Pal

Pal’s historic ensemble has been restored and renovated to recover its historical value. The church of Sant Climent lies at the heart of Pal. It is of Romanesque origin, was built between the 11th and 12th centuries, and preserves parts of its original masonry. Its construction period and surviving fabric give the village a tangible historical connection.

A distinctive architectural detail can be found in the bell tower’s third storey, which has paired double windows. This type of window is considered unusual for small bell towers and unique in the valleys of Andorra. Inside the church there is also an original granite baptismal font. These details highlight several aspects of Sant Climent: its Romanesque origins, surviving sections of masonry, the design of the tower and the fittings inside the church.

A walking trail and snow park for young children

Bosc dels Menairons is the first Macarulla trail created by Andorra Tourism. It is designed to make mountain walks more accessible and enjoyable for young children. In Pal, the entrance to the Path of the White Stones leads to the Bosc dels Menairons walking trail, which has several stations. It can therefore be described as a trail with stops; its purpose differs from the playful skiing offered at Pekepark.

At Pekepark, young children can learn to ski through a range of attractions. The snow park has two conveyor belts. If you are using these facility details to plan your visit, check the current setup before you go. The Pal sector of the Pal Arinsal ski resort also has a bike park. This means that, alongside the snow park, cycling activities are also part of the local range of activities.

These features offer different priorities when planning a trip: Sant Climent represents Romanesque architecture, Bosc dels Menairons is a walking trail with several stations, and Pekepark offers playful skiing for young children. The activities do not all focus on the same thing; their differences can help you decide what suits the interests of your travel group.
