When choosing accommodation in Ordino, it helps to consider the places and routes that shape the character of the parish. The parish church of Sant Corneli i Sant Cebrià has medieval origins and features up to five Baroque altarpieces dedicated to the local patron saints. The Casa d’Areny-Plandolit Museum and the traditional buildings along the main streets also give your trip a clear cultural focus.

Church, Manor House and Village Character

The church of Sant Corneli i Sant Cebrià combines its medieval origins with Baroque furnishings: up to five altarpieces inside are dedicated to the local patron saints. Its architectural history and religious art are therefore brought together in one place. If you are interested in church architecture, the church is a specific place to visit in Ordino.

The Casa d’Areny-Plandolit Museum is in the heart of Ordino and is the only manor house in Andorra to have survived intact to this day. On a tour of its various rooms, visitors can discover numerous unique and exclusive objects belonging to the Areny-Plandolit family. The manor house and its rooms offer a different way to explore the history of the parish than the church: here, the focus is on the house and the family’s belongings.

For a glimpse of traditional Andorran architecture, take a walk along Ordino’s main streets. You can combine a visit to the church or museum with a look at the village’s character, without having to plan another attraction or a specific itinerary.

Literary Route through Ordino

The literary route passes through the old village to the manor houses of the Rossell and Areny-Plandolit families, along the path from Segudet and to the church of Sant Corneli i Sant Cebrià. It thus connects several of the cultural points of interest that define Ordino. Unlike a visit to the museum, which focuses on the rooms and objects in the house, the route takes you through the village and includes several places. No duration is specified for the route, so plan it according to the stops you would like to visit.

Winter and Nature in the Wider Ordino Destination

The wider Ordino destination also includes Ordino Arcalís. The ski area has more than 30 kilometres of skiable terrain, with runs for all ability levels, from beginner to expert. This describes the range of runs in the ski area, not the features of accommodation in Ordino. If your trip needs to cater to different ability levels, you can take this information into account; check current operating conditions before setting out.

The ski area also has five marked ski touring circuits, with a total length of 11 kilometres. These are distinct from the ski runs: the routes mentioned are ski touring circuits, and the total length refers to all five combined. Check the ski area’s current rules and conditions before using them.

Other nature trails in the wider Ordino destination include the self-guided Camí de la marta and Camí del Grau de la Llosa. The Camí de la marta is 500 metres long and passes ten interpretive stations from the Sorteny Nature Park information hut to the botanical garden. The Camí del Grau de la Llosa is 400 metres long; its ten stations follow the Sorteny River from the forest road to the botanical garden. Both routes therefore have the same number of stations, but differ in their stated length and described course. Check local conditions before travelling.

In the l’Esquella d’Ordino forest, the Bosc Viu walk introduces children aged three and over to the legend of the Tió de Nadal through themed trees. On the evening of 28 June, Ordino celebrates the start of summer and its parish feast of Sant Pere by lighting falles and burning the Mai de Sant Pere. These details are part of the wider Ordino destination and complement the village’s cultural attractions with nature and event themes.
