Cool Ski Helmets
Ski helmets have long since stopped being unattractive and uncomfortable. Ski and snowboard helmets now fit well and offer plenty of protection. With their modern designs, they’re also stylish and pretty cool.

TV commercials also show what helmets protect you from. If you’re cool and clever, you wear a helmet when skiing. They’re already standard gear for inline skating and mountain biking. They’re gradually becoming more common in winter sports, too. Children in particular wear this protection.

Protection from injuries
And that’s a good thing. Ski accidents happen unexpectedly, even to the best skiers—and good, cool helmets prevent many head injuries. About 85% of serious head and brain injuries could be avoided. In Switzerland and Slovenia, helmets are mandatory for children skiing. Italy has now adopted this requirement as well.
Choosing the right ski helmet
A suitable helmet fits snugly and comfortably without wobbling. Shaking your head is a good way to check that it fits properly. For children, it shouldn’t be too big, even if they’ll soon grow into it. It should also be lightweight, and you should still be able to hear well enough. The “EN 1077” standard should be taken into account for children. The chin strap, which is firmly attached to the helmet, should be at least 2 cm wide. Make sure it has good inner padding. A pair of ski goggles should be attachable.
A helmet is part of safe skiing. The new, cool models make the decision easier. They also enhance the pro look. It’s hard to imagine professional ski jumpers or snowboarders without helmets.
