St. Moritz Diavolezza

For the first time this winter season, it’s possible! The St. Moritz ski area is now open for skiing for more than 6 months. The Engadin St. Moritz mountain railway is operating from November 10. The Diavolezza firn glacier will then be open for ski holidays. The Diavolezza lifts will operate until the start of the winter season in Corviglia. They will be closed for maintenance from December 1 to 20.

Diavolezza firn glacier—and snowmaking too

The new snowmaking system for skiing in St. Moritz is also a great help here. The investment of more than 1 million CHF has paid off. Even in damp, borderline weather conditions, the new system creates optimal snow conditions. And the glacier gets a protective blanket.

A new feature for early risers

Another new feature will delight early risers: the first mountain railways now start running as early as 7:40 a.m. This means you can make the first tracks in the snow from 8 a.m. The quiet morning hours, almost alone in the powder snow. It’s a very special experience. The magic of the light and the vastness of the majestic Engadin peaks—along with the breathtaking panoramic views and fascinating silence. Many people get up a little earlier for this, so they can enjoy this wonderful natural spectacle undisturbed.

Muottas Muragl mountain railway

The Muottas Muragl mountain railway also starts earlier than before. From December 15, ski holidaymakers can enjoy the views again. The Engadin’s lake landscape is a wonderful sight in both summer and winter. But the picturesque winter idyll delivers some very special adrenaline rushes.

After all, the Engadin is a special destination for ski holidays. The harmony of its lake landscape and wide-open spaces is famous. And then there’s the wonderful weather. On average, the sun shines brightly 322 days a year.
