Adlerhorst Viewing Platform
Two new highlights in Tyrol from October: the sensational “Adlerhorst” platform on Lake Achensee and the spectacular eagle-shaped “Airrofan” Skyglider. The “Adlerhorst” viewing platform is being built above Maurach, at the Gschöllkopf in the Rofan Mountains on Lake Achensee, at an altitude of over 2,000 m. It is scheduled to open in mid-October. The “Adlerhorst” is shaped like a large eagle’s nest, 8 m in diameter.
Adlerhorst in the Achensee ski area
The “Adlerhorst” offers sweeping, fascinating 360° panoramic views over the Achensee ski area. The “eagle’s eye” gazes far beyond the Karwendel and Rofan mountains and across Tyrol. This is the region of the Eagle Trail, which is already a hidden gem in its own right. It was named one of the 50 best hiking trails in the world in Great Britain. The famous “Eagle Trail” now has a new hidden gem for hikers in the “Adlerhorst.” An experience for guests on a ski holiday and throughout the season.

Airrofan Skyglider in test operation
The test run of the eagle-shaped “Airrofan” Skyglider has also begun. Thrill-seekers strap in for a ride on eagle wings in the 800 m-long “Airrofan.” At 85 km/h, they soar skyward over a vertical drop of 200 m. An exciting, entirely new flying experience above Lake Achensee, especially for young adventurers.
1st Eagle Festival in Tyrol
Tyrol’s 1st Eagle Festival in Imst-Gurgltal on October 14 is also dedicated to the eagle. There will be a colorful program along the Eagle Trail in the Muttekopf area, including a paragliding show with the option of a tandem flight. The “Dynamic Duo” will perform sketches at the Untermarkter Alm and the Latschenhütte. Clown Leonardo will also be up to his tricks. Everyone is welcome to join the celebrations, even in bad weather. The Eagle Festival will go ahead regardless.
