The lifts will be equipped with special magnets In order to prevent accidents. Children will be given a special magnet belt, which will be worn on the ski suit and fix them on the seat during the trip.
It occurs quite rare, when children fall from chairlifts. However, several such accidents are recorded in France every year. For the first time Magnestick system was tested in Courchevel a few years ago. Then several lifts were selected for the tests. As it seems, the tests were successful, and it was spread to other lifts.
The system allows to automatically fasten the child, when he sits on the lift and automatically turns off upon the arrival to the destination point of the route.
It should be noted that other resorts in France can’t consider such system revolutionary. At one time it was tested at La Tania and Meribel. However, no one conducted such large-scale modernization as Courchevel. Thanks to the new system, children, who will be trained in the local ESF Courchevel ski schools, get additional security guarantees.
Summer is the traditional time for most ski resorts in Europe to modernize their transportation systems. Not only France, but also Austria, Italy and Switzerland regularly report about updating their infrastructure. In addition to Courchevel, among the recent updates is launching of a new eight-seat lift in Kitzbühel in early July. Thus, the Austrian resort has become one of the few resorts, which have three or more lifts of such level.
