Due to the unusually snowy winter snow cover level in the French Alps, especially on glaciers, allows some resorts to announce opening of the summer ski season. So, on last weekend its first guests received Les Deux Alpes ski resort located in the heart of the Oisans Alpine mountain range at the foot of one of the largest glaciers in Europe.

Of course, ski resort is not operating in full strength. In the first days of summer only seven of fifty-one lift operated at Les Deux Alpes resort. Despite the fact that the main theme of summer is beach holiday, a significant number of visitors chooses Les Deux Alpes glacier to enjoy winter sports during this hot period. It should be noted that the feature of summer skiing is early getting up and, accordingly, early end of skiing (from 7:15 to 12:30.). Besides, glacier, in contrast to the usual winter tracks, is not suitable for the beginners.

Price for summer ski-pass in Les Deux Alpes is 28-35 Euros per day and 165-206 Euros per week.

Tignes ski resort located near Les Deux Alpes will also open summer season on June 22, 2012. On this occasion the resort makes a gift to its guests. All those, who will book accommodation at Tignes, will be able to enjoy cycling area with five special lifts absolutely free. It also offers 150 kilometers of perfectly equipped slopes of varying difficulty. And there are no restrictions for cyclists - they can ride at any time of day, even at night. The resort also offers bike park services. In addition, resort guests can enjoy other attractions, such as golf, mountain hiking tours, fitness, water sports, horseback riding, tennis and much more.
