One of the most popular ski resorts in Italy - Kronplatz - will close the season on its slopes on April 22, 2012 by organizing a cheerful Locknfescht festival.

Locknfescht festival has long traditions at the Kronplatz resort. It is a funny and joyful skiing on the slopes of the Dolomites on things that have lost their original purpose, but acquired additional advantages as downhill bolides.

Older pools and bathtubs, cars without wheels, beds, tables, chairs - all these items will serve as a vehicle and also as sports equipment for those, who decide to make a fast journey from the slopes of the peaks surrounding Kronplatz.

The tradition of celebrating Locknfescht in such way appeared in Kronplatz 10 years ago, when several enthusiasts decided to take a ride through the puddles, which are formed by melting snow on the lake Zeevize. Over the past 12 years the puddles grew in size and turned into ponds. The number of participants and their means of transportation also increased. Today Locknfescht is famous far beyond the South Tyrol. Kronplatz festival gained a reputation of one of the wildest winter holiday options in the Alps.

Kronplatz is ski resort in Italy, which is particularly popular among the family travelers. Undoubtedly, this year the resort can expect a large number of guests with children. And the resort decided to end the season not only by a fun contest. A month before Locknfescht Kronplatz will host another landmark event - F-Tech Springgingerle. "Free-ski" competition of skiers and snowboarders will be held at the resort from March 27 to April 1, 2012.
