From there, an 8-seater gondola takes them to Furi, and finally a cable car carries them to Trockener Steg. The 40-minute journey to this snow-covered glacier paradise is wonderfully varied.

Zermatt, Switzerland’s ski paradise lies at an altitude of around 1,610 m at the foot of the famous Matterhorn. This well-known ski resort attracts many holidaymakers in summer, too. The small mountain village is car-free, making it an ideal place to relax. Electric taxis, horse-drawn carriages and pedestrians set the scene on Zermatt’s streets. It’s quite different from other Swiss ski resorts such as St. Moritz and Davos.
Skiers can look forward to 313 km of superb slopes, glacier runs and carving pistes, as well as 24 km of cross-country trails. You can also try heliskiing here, while other ski areas are still waiting for the season to begin.
Snowboarders will find plenty to enjoy here, too. The Gravity Snowboard Park, with its various practice courses, is very popular, as are the ski tests held between October and December.
