EUR 5 million cost the festive party in Courchevel on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of one of the richest people of Ukraine - steel magnate Viktor Pinchuk.
Courchevel 1650 ski resort is one of the most popular holiday destinations of the richest men from Russia and Ukraine. On December 18, 2010 it hosted approximately 300 guests who came to congratulate Viktor Pinchuk on the anniversary.

Such a grand event has attracted the attention of the leading European media. The Times and several leading French newspapers published this information.
One of the richest people of Ukraine, Viktor Pinchuk, was lavish of entertainment and refreshments. The famous Canadian Cirque du Soleil was specially invited to perform at the birthday party of the oligarch. The dishes served on the banquet table were monitored by the famous French chef Alain Ducasse, who by the number of Michelin stars, received by his restaurants, can be regarded as the "Marshal of the French cuisine".
In recent years Courchevel is trying to regain its reputation of the classic French ski resort and at the same time to get rid of the title of the most expensive ski resort in France. The popular among nouveaux riches from the East center was particularly successful in this after the scandal with another oligarch, this time from Russia, Mikhail Prokhorov. Then the French police detained Prokhorov and several girls on suspicion of procuring. This year in Courchevel for the first time in 30 years was held one of the stages of the women's slalom World Cup - a more sports event rather than secular.
Nevertheless, due to the scale of Viktor Pinchuk’s birthday, a lot of money can still be acquired by Courchevel. On Saturday, there set a record - all 11 luxury hotels in Courchevel were completely booked.
Viktor Pinchuk, was named by Forbes among the 100 most influential people in the world. In addition to steel business Pinchuk is also known as a collector of contemporary art. The Ukrainian oligarch celebrated his 50th anniversary on 14 December, but the main celebration was scheduled for Saturday.
