Sun Peaks Resort
Sun Peaks Resort

Last week we wrote that famous ski area Sun Peaks situated in the British Columbia, Canada, scheduled its opening day for the coming season on November 14, 2009 - a week earlier than it was expected. Now Sun Peaks representatives have informed that in order to celebrate the beginning of new winter season the resort will run a giveaway of free tickets for those winter sports lovers who are lucky to have their birthday on November 14.

Any skier or boarder born this day will get free lift passes for the whole day, those of them who already bought their tickets for this day may give free passes to their friends. But the list of eligible for giveaway persons is not limited to above mentioned lucky ones. Free tickets worth of $14 will be awarded to those skiers and snowboarders who have house or apartment number 14, who are currently 14 years old or whose wedding anniversary is on November 14.

Meanwhile, Mount Norquay located near Banff in Alberta province have already opened on the Helloween weekend. Dan Markham, a Ski Banff-Lake Louise-Sunshine representative, reported:
"It's great to be skiing in October. It was a really fun way to celebrate Halloween. We're excited to be open already, and there'll be more terrain available this weekend." Currently Mount Norquay is the first and only ski area in the western part of Canada which is already open.

Lake Louise Ski Area is to be the next one to launch new season tomorrow - on November 6, 2009. Currently this ski area runs preparations to host the first stop on the World Cup circuit.
The Men's ski races are scheduled to November 28 - 29, and the Women's races - on December 4 - 6.
