About half a meter of snow got Banff's three ski areas - Mt. Norquay, Lake Louise Ski Area and Sunshine Village – during the last six days (about a half of the total quantity fell in the last two days). Now the base level of white blanket is about 80 cm.
So the opening weekend in Banff ski areas was very successful due to such an excellent weather conditions. At the moment along with the above mentioned ski areas one more major ski resort - Marmot Basin – is opened for the season in Canada, all four of them are located in Alberta province.
Joint Ski Banff-Lake Louise-Sunshine ski region is the largest one in Canada and is located in “the protected wilderness of Banff National Park” where amateurs of winter sports “will enjoy stunning mountain backdrops, guaranteed lack of lift lines and friendly local hospitality” (according to the resort’s official web-site).
And among good skiing conditions and great antres-ski infrastructure all of the Banff ski areas can offer the most terrific and tremendous vistas of Canada's Rocky Mountains. Mt. Norquay, “the pioneer ski resort”, offers a possibility of night skiing in a well-illuminated terrain park. Lake Louise is famous for its beautiful and varied terrain. And Sunshine Village is some kind of skiers’ and snowboarders’ paradise.
