Hockey is a passion of life! Hockey is a very interesting winter sport! However not everyone who is keen of this kind of sports has background information and know-how about a sport for the passion of life can lead. You can play ice-hockey everywhere where you can find ice and several players.  And now, a brief history of how the ice-hockey appeared. In 1134 the first skates were invented in Denmark. These were assembled from bones. In the 16th century the Dutch invented the game that was resembled to the ice hockey. The most famous game took place between America and the USSR. During the Cold War the USSR was regarded as the world’s best team but this title was forced by the Americans at the Olympic Games in 1980. The American professional league NHL is now one of the strongest in the world nowadays.

By the year 1877 the ball was the main game unit. However, the student William Robertson Fleet at McGill University had an idea to make a flat disc from the ball. In 1878 William wrote the first rules of the game and called the disk a “puck”. The term “puck” comes from the Scottish-Gaelic “poc” and means a beat, shot or kick.

There are many opportunities to exercise the passion. Nature Park Habichtswald in Kassel (Germany) offers good opportunities for this. The Kassel’s ice hockey team, the Huskies is known world-wide.

Many resorts offer the opportunity to exercise the ice hockey. Many ski huts, houses and other accommodation facilities with large ice rinks offer their guests an unforgettable winter vacation. A winter trip without the feeling in the snow or on the ice will be only a half winter vacation.

Ice festival at Norwegian ski resort
This year the Ice Music Festival will be held from 3 to 5 February, while the ticket price will be about 300-400 NOK for the entire festival. Ticket holders will be able to reach the venue of the festival on a free bus from the central square of Geilo.
