The visitor center at Roger Williams National Memorial offers exhibitions and ranger programs. Touro Synagogue, dedicated in 1763, is the oldest synagogue building in the United States and symbolizes the founding principle of religious freedom for all Americans. Lippitt House Museum, a National Historic Landmark, contains one of the best-preserved Victorian-era interiors in America. Tours there explore how the history of Providence has shaped present-day Rhode Island.

Newport Art Museum also has a clear cultural focus. It holds around 3,000 works of art in various media, dating from the 18th century to the present. The focus is on American and contemporary art.

Bike Paths and Routes of Different Lengths

Several routes with clearly defined lengths and endpoints are available for planning bike tours. The Blackstone River Bikeway is 18.2 miles long, making it the second-longest bike path in the state. The East Bay Bike Path measures 14.5 miles and runs between India Point Park in Providence and Independence Park in Bristol.

The South County Bike Path is also known as the William C. O'Neill Bike Path and is 7.8 miles long. It runs from Kingston Station in West Kingston in South Kingstown to Mumford Road in Narragansett. The Audubon Nature Center and Aquarium is located along the East Bay Bike Path. Its paths give cyclists and pedestrians access to the natural surroundings of the protected area.
