Wila is located in the Töss Valley, the valley of the Töss, between the municipalities of Turbenthal and Bauma. Thurgau lies to the east, while Wildberg is to the west.
Landscape and Settlement Pattern
The hamlets surrounding Wila are considered typical settlement locations in the Tössbergland. They include valley and terrace settlements associated with the Hörnli range and the Töss.
Culture and History
Historical records document Wila’s church and its pastor as early as 1414. A ruling from 1504 records the separation of Wila’s filial church from Turbenthal and documents the establishment of an independent parish church in Wila.

Wila’s surroundings include Hegi Castle and Auenberg. The wider regional area is home to the Swiss National Museum, Girsberg Castle, Wilkethöchi, Kressenberg, and Werd Island.
