Trails and Landscapes
The Bauma–Sternenberg–Saland hike is approximately 13 kilometres long and takes around four hours. It leads through dense forests and wild gorges, passing waterfalls along the way. The route also passes the Hagheerenloch, a cave approximately 30 metres deep.
A hiking route from Sternenberg Church to the Hörnli takes approximately one and a half hours. For shorter walks, there are circular hikes starting in Sternenberg that take between 45 minutes and one hour.
Sternen/Sternenberg opens up views of twelve densely forested valleys and gorges. The route towards Manzenhub and Wila offers views across the entire Alpine range. The observatory in Sternenberg is a recommended stop along the Bauma–Sternenberg–Saland route.
Culture
The film comedy Sternenberg was partly filmed in 2004 in the rooms of the Sternen. Alexander Solzhenitsyn lived in Sternenberg in the summer of 1974.

Getting There and Trails
The Bauma–Sternenberg–Saland hike can be reached via the S26 from Winterthur or Rüti ZH to Bauma. The route can also be reached by bus and PostBus via Wetzikon or Pfäffikon ZH to Bauma.
PostBus route 809 connects Bauma with Sternenberg.
Cuisine
Gasthaus Sternen serves hearty à la carte dishes and daily specials. These include seasonal asparagus dishes, game from the Sternenberg hunting grounds and meat cooked on a hot stone.
