Chippis is a Swiss municipality in the canton of Valais and the District of Sierre. The village is located on the left bank of the Rhône. The municipality includes a village at an altitude of 520 metres and a steep slope rising from 500 to 1,000 metres.

The ruins of Château de Beauregard are among Chippis's surviving medieval cultural heritage sites.

History

The Saint-Urbain Chapel dates from 1278. In 1856, it became the parish church. This was followed by church constructions in 1868 and 1923.

Chippis lies at a crossing point of the Navizence mountain stream. Historical floods led to the excavation of its present course.
