Culture and History

The Musée de Bagnes is located in a former rectory near the parish church of Le Châble. The building was renovated in 1984 and converted into an exhibition venue. Part of its walls dates back to the early 13th century. The former rectory also contains a 1627 crucifixion painting, panelled rooms from the 16th and 17th centuries, an early 18th-century painted ceiling, and soapstone stoves.

The Musée de Bagnes presents an annual thematic exhibition in Le Châble, complemented by a publication. At the reception, the museum offers handwritten transcriptions of audio recordings. It is not wheelchair accessible.
