Culture and history
The Church of Sant'Ambrogio vecchio in Negrentino, now called San Carlo, was first mentioned in 1224 and is considered an important example of Romanesque-Lombard architecture in Switzerland.
San Carlo probably served as a parish church from the 14th century onward. In the 18th century, San Carlo was replaced as the parish church by Sant'Ambrogio in Prugiasco.
