Eywald: Rüschegg-Eywald Ski Area and Schwarzwasser Landscapes
The Rüschegg-Eywald ski area has 13 kilometres of pistes. These include forest runs, fast carving pistes and varied pistes for snow sports enthusiasts. The Rüschegg ski lift is 2,263 metres long and was built in 1968.
Winter
During the winter season, the ski area offers, among other things, a fondue experience at Berghaus Lischboden with musical entertainment. Berghaus Lischboden has a sunny terrace with spectacular views of the snow-covered Bernese Alps. The Lischboden mountain restaurant invites guests to eat and linger. This part of the ski area therefore combines winter sports with a named dining option and time spent on the terrace. Winter sports and the culinary offering are thus both represented in the winter area described, without the piste features and the dining option constituting the same offering.
Getting There
There is a large free car park directly at the Rüschegg ski lift. The Rüschegg-Eywald ski area can be reached from Bern, Thun and Fribourg via well-developed roads in approximately 30 minutes. The route leads from Rüschegg/Heubach via Längeneybad-Eywald back to Rüschegg/Heubach and is suitable for public transport; the journey there and back is by bus to Rüschegg Heubach / Post. For travelling to Eywald, the three named starting points, the car park at the lift and the bus connection to Rüschegg Heubach / Post can therefore be considered separately.
Nature and Landscape
The Schwarzwasser Landscapes excursion route leads through a moorland landscape into Eywald. The Schwarzwasser Landscapes excursion invites visitors to discover impressive landscapes that are now protected. In Eywald, the excursion illustrates the connections between forest and water. The route thus offers a landscape perspective that differs in content from the pistes, ski lift and culinary offerings. In Eywald, winter-oriented infrastructure and an excursion featuring moorland as well as a forest-and-water focus therefore come together.
Summer
The Eywald outdoor swimming pool invites visitors to swim during the summer months. It is located at an altitude of 1,050 metres above sea level. The swimming pool and children's pool at the Eywald swimming pool are heated to 25 to 29 °C using a solar system. The Eywald Tennis Club has two outdoor courts directly next to the Eywald Rüschegg outdoor swimming pool. For a stay outside the winter season, swimming, a separate children's pool and tennis on two outdoor courts are therefore clearly named as summer activities alongside one another. The outdoor swimming pool combines its altitude with heated pools, while the tennis club immediately next door offers another summer activity with its two outdoor courts.
When choosing accommodation for a stay in Eywald, travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions are the main considerations. These details distinguish the period, room arrangement and booking conditions; the thematic scope in Eywald ranges from winter sports and the landscape route to the summer activities.
