The village of Sissach extends through the Ergolz Valley and onto parts of the surrounding slopes. The Sissacher Fluh is located in the vicinity of Sissach. Culture and History

Sissach is home to a protected local history museum housed in a listed building. A small exhibition at the Nebiker distillery presents material about Johann August Sutter, including pictures, photographs, and a video.

A castle in Sissach was built in 1774/75 and is owned by the Canton of Basel-Landschaft. Sissach railway station was modernised and rebuilt in 2007. The castle site is considered to be located close to Sissach railway station and accessible on foot. Sissach also has a public forest playground maintained by the local citizens’ municipality.
