Landscape and nature

The area around Sádočné is bordered by the forested mixed-woodland hills of the Strážovské vrchy, including Šalovina and Sádocký vrch.

The cadastral area of Sádočné belongs to the Strážovské vrchy Protected Landscape Area, which was designated to protect distinctive landforms, gorges, ridges, erosion basins and biological diversity.

The area is characterised by species-rich limestone flora with thermophilic Pannonian as well as montane and alpine Carpathian species. In addition, the area around Sádočné is part of a Natura 2000 site.

The GL 119 Pod Žatkovou site includes a 3.91-hectare dry meadow in the cadastral area of Sádočné. Yellow flax, monkey orchid, red-backed shrike and smooth snake are listed as protected species for GL 119 Pod Žatkovou.

The GL 121 Panský háj site covers 2.18 hectares and extends across the cadastral areas of Sádočné and Domaniža; it includes a dry meadow and an open pine forest. Monkey orchid and military orchid are listed as protected species for GL 121 Panský háj.

The GL 122 Niva Domanižanky site includes Sádočné and preserves, over 7.47 hectares, an ash and alder floodplain forest at the foot of the mountains, connected to a natural watercourse. Fire-bellied toads, common frogs, common redstarts, otters, kingfishers and white-throated dippers are listed as protected species for GL 122 Niva Domanižanky.

The cadastral area of Sádočné is also home to yew, pasqueflower, gentian, brown bear, lynx, capercaillie and fire salamander.

The Domanižanka watercourse is a water-management-significant body of water; Sádočné lies within its catchment area.

Culture and townscape

The Sádočné hillfort is located between Sádočné and Domaniža. It is a hilltop fortification and hilltop settlement of the Púchov culture from the La Tène period, and was declared a national cultural monument in 1968.

There is a chapel on the main road in the centre of Sádočné. The former inn is a historically valuable Baroque building dating from the second half of the 18th century.

There are five Category I and II water springs in the area of Sádočné.
