In Predeal and Pârâul Rece, the ski areas comprise a total of eight alpine ski slopes with difficulty levels ranging from easy to difficult. The range of slope levels provides a direct point of comparison when planning different winter sports days.

Winter Activities and Slopes

The Clăbucet Sosire ski slope is easy, 800 metres long and equipped with artificial snowmaking and lighting. This means that, in addition to the difficulty level, a specific length and two named features are available for planning the day. The difficulty levels from easy to difficult classify the slope information without transferring the individual length of Clăbucet Sosire to the entire ski area.

Predeal's cable-car facilities provide access to mountain panoramas and walks at higher elevations; they can also be used for skiing. Mountain panoramas, walks and skiing thus represent three differently described uses of the same facilities.

Season and Climate

Predeal has a mountain climate with cool summers and cold winters. The average July temperature is 15 °C, while the average January temperature is below -5 °C. In Predeal, the snow cover lasts for more than 100 days a year.

The seasonal temperature figures and the duration of the snow cover help you consider winter and summer activities separately, without linguistically mixing the two travel periods. The two average values mark the seasonal contrast, while the annual duration of the snow cover provides an additional time-related figure for the winter climate.

Tobogganing and Mountain Coaster

Tobogganing is part of Predeal's winter visitor offerings. The Predeal Mountain Coaster has an 822-metre-long track and is equipped with 22 two-seater sleds, each for one adult and one child.

Tobogganing and the mountain coaster stand alongside each other as different types of activity.

Mountain Trails and Hiking Routes

Predeal's summer visitor offerings include mountain hikes on trails in the Bucegi Mountains. Route 05MN09 begins at Predeal railway station and leads uphill via Hotel Belvedere/Cioplea.

From Predeal, Route 05MN09 leads to Pasul PredeluÈ™. It also continues as far as Cabana Susai and then climbs further along the Pietricica ridge.

Other destinations for comparison include Ghimbav, Râşnov, Brașov and Cristian.

For a ski holiday in Predeal, travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions can serve as factual comparison points alongside the winter and mountain offerings mentioned above. Together, they form a consistent basis when comparing different accommodation offers according to the same personal travel requirements. The accommodation details remain a separate area of comparison alongside slopes, tobogganing options, routes and seasonal climate data.

Skiing History and Culture

Skiing has been practised in various forms in Predeal for more than 110 years. The first organised ski course in Predeal took place in 1920. The long history of skiing and today's slope landscape therefore belong to different time periods.

The Mihail Săulescu Monument stands on the northern edge of Predeal, at the site where the first attacks in the Battle of Predeal took place.
