History
Rycerka Górna was established at the beginning of the 17th century under the name Radeczka; the first recorded mention dates from 1628. The early settlement was a Wallachian pasture settlement based on the clearing of forested areas.

The Golgota Beskidów Cross is located in the wider regional area surrounding Rycerka Górna. Kolonia, a part of Rycerka Górna, historically served as a starting point for excursions to Wielka Racza.
Below the summit of Wielka Racza lies the PTTK mountain shelter in the Żywiec Beskids at an altitude of 1,236 meters. It was opened on December 17, 1934.
