Spa and History

The spa district is located along a spa promenade and is geared towards recuperation, walks, and active recreation. Żegiestów’s spa tradition is associated with the Anna and Antonina mineral springs and later developed into a health resort. Żegiestów was founded in 1575 by Hawryła Juranka on the basis of a privilege granted by Bishop Franciszek Kraśnicki.

Hiking and Nature

Three marked hiking trails pass through Żegiestów: the yellow Muszynka–Żegiestów trail, the blue Żegiestów–Leluchów trail, and the black Żegiestów–Pusta Wielka trail. The spa district also has an ornithological educational trail with several information boards.

Landscape

The settlement is located on the Poprad and the Żegiestowski Potok in a steep river landscape. Pusta Wielka is located near Żegiestów. Solivka is also situated in the vicinity of the town.

Muszyna - Ruiny Zamku and Rytro are located in the surroundings of Żegiestów. Široký vrch and Kicarz are also in the surrounding area. Červený Kláštor and Pieniński Park Narodowy are located in the wider regional vicinity of Żegiestów.
