Pieve Tesino: Museums, Mountains and Regional Destinations

Museums and Tesino’s Trading History

The Museo Per Via – Museo Tesino delle Stampe e dell'Ambulantato was founded in Pieve Tesino in memory of the Tesino itinerant traders who travelled the world with their print boxes. It tells the story of the Tesino itinerant traders, travellers and merchants who travelled throughout Europe for centuries, selling prints, books and works of art. Itinerant traders are merchants who offer their goods while travelling and in changing locations. Their range of goods therefore included both reproduced images and books and works of art. The term print refers to reproduced images. Guided tours of the Museo Per Via can also be arranged for groups and individual visitors outside regular opening hours.

The Museo Casa De Gasperi is located in the birthplace of Alcide De Gasperi and was opened to the public in 2006.

Villa Daziaro is the historic residence of a family whose success was linked to the Tesino trade in prints. The historic residence adds a family perspective to this trading history.

Tesino Golf Club La Farfalla

Tesino Golf Club La Farfalla covers approximately 40 hectares above and around Colle Coldanè. The course is considered a mountain links course, whose distinctive character is shaped by the natural terrain. A mountain links course is a golf course in which the natural contours of the terrain largely determine the character of the course. Tesino Golf Club La Farfalla is suitable for players of all skill levels.

Mountains in the Surrounding Area

Monte Silana, a mountain, is located in the vicinity of Pieve Tesino. The nearby area of Pieve Tesino also includes Cima la Presa, Monte Mezza and Monte Cismon; Cima la Presa, Monte Mezza and Monte Cismon are each peaks.

Gardens, Castle and Forts

The Giardino d'Europa and the Arboreto del Tesino serve as venues for social and cultural events. With their diversity of plant species, the Giardino d'Europa and the Arboreto del Tesino symbolise uniqueness within diversity. An arboretum is an area where different tree and plant species are collected or displayed. The sites thus combine their function as event venues with the diversity of their plant species.

Castel Telvana is located in the area around Pieve Tesino and is a castle. In the wider region surrounding Pieve Tesino are Covolo di Butistone, ex Forte Dossaccio and Forte Belvedere; all three are forts. A fort is a fortified structure, whereas Castel Telvana is explicitly described as a castle. Castel Telvana and the three forts thus represent different types of historic structures.

The Vivi Tesino programme includes a visit to the Azienda Agricola Maso Paregin farm, with workshops on the effects of medicinal herbs. The medicinal herbs are the specific subject of the workshop, whose effects are discussed.
