Archaeology and History
Tanca Manna is a Bronze Age village that combines traditional visits to the archaeological site with experimental archaeology and fun, educational workshops. During the workshops held regularly, visitors can make clay vessels, prepare and bake bread, and watch bronze-casting demonstrations. The Museo archeologico nazionale di Nuoro is housed in one of the city's most significant 19th-century palazzi.

Art and Literature
The MAN is a permanent public institution dedicated to researching, preserving and promoting modern and contemporary art. It opened to the public in 1999. Its collection comprises around 850 works by Sardinian artists from the late 19th century to the present day and continues to grow.
The Tribu Museo comunale Francesco Ciusa is housed in the city's former courthouse, a historically protected building. It permanently displays the regional collection of works by Francesco Ciusa, an artist from Nuoro; the museum also hosts temporary exhibitions and art workshops. The Casa museo Grazia Deledda is located in the birthplace of Grazia Deledda (1871–1936), the writer from Nuoro, and displays her manuscripts, photographs, various documents and personal belongings.
The Museo della Ceramica displays works documenting important Sardinian art schools and leading Sardinian masters. The historic Casa Chironi is being converted and adapted for this purpose.
Traditions
The Museo della Vita e delle Tradizioni Popolari Sarde is Sardinia's largest ethnographic museum and is divided into ten themed rooms. Its collections include a room displaying 350 traditional types of bread.
Cityscape
Nuoro's historic centre can be explored on foot via old cobbled lanes lined with old stone houses, courtyards, arcades and small squares. One façade features columns and a pediment reminiscent of a classical temple, as well as two matching side towers. The square has paving made of granite blocks, along with granite boulders and bronze statuettes.
Nature
Monte Ortobene covers 1,600 hectares and features high granite cliffs and depressions. Climbing opportunities are available on Monte Ortobene. The area is home to mammals, birds of prey and other bird species.

Nuoro's intermodal centre allows tourists arriving by car or bus to leave their vehicle there and then use another form of transport.
