The Riserva Naturale Regionale e Oasi WWF dei Ghirardi extends across a significant part of the Albareto area.
Forest trails, mountain destination and panoramic road
From Albareto, nature excursions lead, among other places, along the Torrente Gotra. Other excursions lead from there to Monte Gottero, at an altitude of 1,640 metres. Anyone planning a visit to Monte Gottero should bear in mind that the destination is at an altitude of 1,640 metres.
Albareto also lies along a section of the Ippovia della Val Taro e Val Ceno. Another circular route is the „Sentiero rosso“, also known as the „Giganti verdi“. The 3.56-kilometre trail passes monumental downy oaks. When planning the day, the Sentiero rosso can be treated as a separate circular route with a length of 3.56 kilometres.
A winding panoramic road leads from Albareto to the Passo di Cento Croci, which marks the border between Emilia and Liguria.

Arrival by car or train
By car, you can reach Albareto via the A15 Parma–La Spezia motorway, the Borgotaro exit and the onward route through Borgo Val di Taro.
