Lake Szelidi is located near Dunapataj. The lake is considered a nature reserve as well as a holiday and bathing resort; its fauna and flora are regarded as characteristic.

Lake Szelidi covers 68 hectares, is 5.3 kilometers long, and 150 meters wide. Its water is considered iodine-rich, and it is also credited with healing properties.

The Danube lies west of Dunapataj, while Lake Szelidi lies east of the town.

Dunapataj has a Calvinist church that preserves Gothic remains from the 15th century. The Baroque Church of Saint John of Nepomuk dates from 1761.

Szelidi Summer is a series of events held in July and August, while Pataji Autumn is a series of events held in September.

The local historical documents of the Museum of Pataj are housed in a Unitarian church built in 1937. Additional exhibits are displayed in the manor house and the forge.

Transport

Dunapataj is located on Main Road 51 between Solt and Kalocsa and has a railway station. Passenger service to Kunszentmiklós-Tass was discontinued in 2007.
