Pracht: Hotels and Accommodations

Pracht has four signposted walking trails. Changes in direction are marked with colored arrows, and all trails can be walked in both directions.

Hiking

A local, yellow-marked circular forest trail is approximately 8.7 kilometers long, runs mostly through the forest around Hassel, and starts at the parking lot of the Waldsportanlage Hohegrete sports grounds.

The signposted blue Hohegrete circular trail is approximately 5 kilometers long and starts at the Eckenstell shelter in Wickhausen. The red circular trail connecting the villages is approximately 5.7 kilometers long and starts at the playground on the village square in Pracht.

History

Mining was already being carried out in Pracht in the 12th century. In addition, more than 50 mines and mining fields are documented. The former headframe of the Hohegrete mine became a local landmark.

In the wider region around Pracht are Blankenberg Castle, the abandoned quarry above B 478 in the Bröl Valley, the Southern Bastion, and Ehrenstein Monastery.

Geographical Setting

In the Wickhausen district, Pracht has a railway stop on the Au (Sieg)–Altenkirchen line; Au (Sieg) is considered the nearest railway station.

The Beulskopf is located in the immediate vicinity of Pracht. The surrounding area also includes the Morsbach observation tower, Alserberg, and Schaden.
