Gudenhagen outdoor pool between woodland and slopes

The Gudenhagen outdoor pool has approximately 6,500 m² of water surface. It is nestled in a valley bordered by woodland and slopes. The location of the outdoor pool connects the water area with Gudenhagen’s wooded valley landscape. The valley setting with its woodland and slopes shapes the landscape surrounding the outdoor pool.

The GP1 circular route through several types of landscape

The Brilon-Gudenhagen/Petersborn circular route (GP1) runs along the outskirts of Gudenhagen to the Pulvermühle below the Hängeberg. It then leads back to the Kyrill Gate via the Brilon town forest. Anyone planning the GP1 as a loop can include the section through the Brilon town forest as the return route to the Kyrill Gate.

The circular route begins at the car park at the Kyrill Gate. The GP1’s starting and return point is therefore at the Kyrill Gate. For personal route planning, access from this car park is the central local reference point.

Forest Fairy Trail and route to the Fire Oak

The Forest Fairy Trail around the Hängeberg between Brilon, Gudenhagen and Kupferschlade is an approximately 3.1 km-long walking trail with interactive stations that provide information about the forest. At around 3.1 km, the distance of the walking trail can be factored into your day’s plans.

Another connection to the Kyrill Gate is the route from Kyrill Gate Brilon to the Fire Oak. It is a section of the Brilon Ridgeway or the Rothaarsteig. This route therefore connects Kyrill Gate Brilon with the Fire Oak within this section of the trail.

Kyrill Gate and Petersborn-Schlesierplatz

In Gudenhagen-Petersborn, the Kyrill Gate is a landmark commemorating Storm Kyrill in 2007. On the GP1, it marks the starting and return area of the circular route. Thus, the commemoration of Kyrill and the function as the starting and return area of the circular route come together at the same point.

Petersborn-Schlesierplatz is the bus stop on the Brilon-Gudenhagen/Petersborn circular route (GP1). For a stay in the local area, this stop complements the car park at the Kyrill Gate as another specific point of orientation along the circular route.

Different types of routes in the local area

The GP1 is a circular route starting and returning at the Kyrill Gate. The Forest Fairy Trail is an approximately 3.1 km-long walking trail with interactive stations about the forest. The route from Kyrill Gate Brilon to the Fire Oak is a section of the Brilon Ridgeway or the Rothaarsteig.
