Behind the church, four foundation stones, and at Lugrain, four mighty lime trees commemorate the four men associated with the founding of Michelbach. The founding document is dated 7 March 1495. The stones, trees and document thus connect visible elements in the village with a fully dated historical reference. The Cultural and Museum Barn

Another facet of the village’s history is presented by the cultural and museum barn in Michelbach. Historical equipment from agriculture and crafts is displayed there. Michelbach on the OberhessenSteig
