Hiking Trails by Length and Route

The Rabenstein Glassworks Trail is an easy, 10.0-kilometre hiking trail from Rabenstein to Regenhütte. By direct comparison, the River Trail is therefore almost three times as long as the Glassworks Trail. For day planning, the stated distance provides a manageable framework. The 10.0 kilometres compare with the longer route to Regen.

The River Trail from Bayerisch Eisenstein to Regen is just under 30 kilometres long. After the turn-off to Arberhütte, the route continues through mixed woodland via Seebachschleife to Regenhütte. The sequence along this section is clearly defined: Arberhütte comes before the mixed-woodland section, followed by Seebachschleife. Regenhütte lies on the route to Regen and is not the endpoint of the entire trail. When choosing a route, both the length and the location of Regenhütte along the route therefore matter. The nearly 30 kilometres require a different division when planning the day than the 10.0-kilometre Glassworks Trail. Stage planning therefore takes into account both the route to Regenhütte and the continuation to Regen.

Glassmaking Tradition Along the Glass Trail

Regenhütte lies on the nearly 100-kilometre Glass Trail through the Bavarian Forest. The trail connects former and still-producing glassworks as well as other evidence of the glassmaking tradition. Along the route, historical references to glassworks therefore meet glassworks where production is still continuing. The trail links the district with other stations of the glassmaking tradition in the Bavarian Forest.

The site of the former “Rabensteiner Neue Hütte” is also located in Regenhütte. This site forms part of the district’s historical glassmaking tradition. The former glassworks must be distinguished from the still-producing glassworks along the Glass Trail. Along the same route, former use and continuing glass production thus stand side by side.

Rest Stop Along Hiking and Cycling Routes

Regenhütte is a nature-oriented rest stop on the nearly 30-kilometre River Trail from Bayerisch Eisenstein to Regen. There is also a newly built public barbecue area with a Kneipp pool along the hiking and cycling routes in Regenhütte. The public barbecue area with Kneipp pool provides an additional opportunity to take a break on the hiking and cycling routes in Regenhütte. For a break along the route, the River Trail is the local point of reference; the barbecue area with Kneipp pool is located along the hiking and cycling routes in Regenhütte.

Natural Toboggan Run on the Edge of the Village

The natural toboggan run in Regenhütte is located on a sunny meadow on the edge of the village and is well suited to families. The natural toboggan run is on a sunny meadow at the edge of the village, while the River Trail leads through mixed woodland. The location is therefore clear for winter planning: the toboggan run is on the edge of Regenhütte. This spatial distinction sets it apart from the hiking trails leading from Rabenstein or Bayerisch Eisenstein to Regenhütte.

Midsummer Bonfire in the District

A traditional Midsummer Bonfire is held annually in the Regenhütte district. The event includes musical entertainment and culinary treats. Music and culinary treats form the setting for the event.
