Val Thorens provides access to the Val Thorens-Orelle ski area as well as Les 3 Vallées. The interconnected Les 3 Vallées ski area has 600 kilometres of pistes, which can be traversed from one resort to the next with skis on.

Winter Sports

In winter, Val Thorens offers not only skiing but also tobogganing, snowshoeing, swimming, a cinema, bowling, snowmobile rides and dog sledding.

The VT Park snowpark in Val Thorens is located in the Plateaux area and offers freestyle features such as tables, rails and boxes in various sizes.

With Snake Gliss, individual sledges are connected to form snakes of up to ten sledges and are guided by a professional instructor. In Val Thorens, Snake Gliss is a 45-minute descent from the top of the Funitel de Péclet.

La Piste aux Étoiles in Val Thorens is a 250-metre-long toboggan run with a vertical drop of 45 metres. Two free covered conveyor belts at the bottom of the run take visitors back to Place Caron.

Summer

In summer, open mountain lifts take pedestrians and mountain bikers to the valley's main peaks and high-altitude trails. Summer activities in Val Thorens include hiking, mountain biking and swimming.

In summer, there are a total of 50 hiking trails starting from Val Thorens, Les Ménuires or Saint-Martin-de-Belleville; hiking trails can start from Val Thorens.

The Belleville Bike Park encompasses these three locations and has around 20 downhill and enduro trails for all ability levels, accessible by mountain lifts. The green Combe de Thorens trail starts at the top of the 2 Lacs gondola and descends for 6.8 kilometres with 423 metres of elevation loss; it is suitable for beginners to enduro riding.

Landscape

Val Thorens lies at an altitude of 2,300 metres below the permanent snowfields; the landscape includes high-altitude lakes, rugged ridges and flowering valleys.

Val Thorens can be crossed on foot from one end to the other in around 20 minutes; a car is not required.

Experiences

ECLIPSO offers two immersive virtual reality experiences featuring the Colosseum and the Titanic; both are located at the summit of Cime Caron in the Caron 3200 building.

Culture

The Chapelle Notre-Dame-des-Neiges in Val Thorens was built in 1992 to mark the resort's 20th anniversary. It was designed by architect Chiantello with a forecourt and a canopy supported by stone columns.
