Avoriaz: Hotels and accommodation
Accommodation in Avoriaz
Avoriaz is part of the Portes du Soleil ski area, which extends across two countries and twelve resorts. In winter, people travel through the snow-covered streets of Avoriaz on skis; pedestrians, skiers and sledges share the space there. Since its creation, Avoriaz 1800 has been designed as a car-free, entirely pedestrian-oriented resort.

Winter and activities
The Dromonts slope is a shared sledging area next to the Dromonts ski lift, suitable for families and friends. Avokart offers another special descent: a three-wheeled vehicle takes you over 3.2 kilometres and 600 metres of elevation difference. From Avoriaz, the bike parks of Avoriaz, Châtel, Morzine and Champéry-Morgins are easily accessible; the return journey is possible by mountain lift.
At an altitude of more than 1,800 metres, Village Igloo Avoriaz offers a polar visitor experience with a frozen aperitif and fondue.
Further experiences
Aquariaz is a water experience area in Avoriaz that is accessible in both summer and winter. It includes a gently flowing stream lined with tropical trees, as well as a heated outdoor whirlpool bath at 33 degrees, with a view of the valley.
Golf d’Avoriaz also offers various learning opportunities: the documented range includes beginner and advanced courses, private lessons and a practice facility.
Architecture and history
Les Hauts Forts 2 is one of the first buildings in Avoriaz and was designed and built by architect Jacques Labro in 1967–1968. Its tiered, rugged architecture is inspired by the geological folds of the mountain.
By a decree dated 18 February 2025, Les Hauts Forts 2 was entered on the register of historic monuments. The protection covers the façades and roofs, as well as the shared and publicly accessible interior areas of the building.
