Trails through Hedeland

Hedeland Nature Park has gravel paths that invite you to go hiking and cycling. The winter terraces in Hedeland comprise more than 3,000 grapevines and are located in the same park as the trails. The nature trail in Hedeland is a 4-kilometre route through the wild nature and the park’s largest woodland area. The four kilometres of the nature trail provide the route with a clearly defined framework for planning your day.

The two kilometres between the station and the car park form a separate stretch of trail when combined with the nature trail. When planning, it is therefore important to distinguish between the station as the starting point and the car park on Brandhøjgårdsvej. The circular cycling route subsequently returns to the station. The cycling tour ends at the station, not at the car park.

Heritage railway and cultural park

Hedelands Veteranbane is located at the entrance to Brandhøjgårdsvej 2 in Hedehusene. The narrow-gauge heritage railway is 5 kilometres long, has eight stops and passes the nature playground at Fem Ege. Both the car park for the nature trail route and the entrance to the heritage railway are located on Brandhøjgårdsvej. Five kilometres of track and eight stops provide the heritage railway with a concrete framework for planning your day. During a visit, these key details can be combined with the other trails in the park.

Hedehusene Cultural Park has the interactive playground “Edderkoppen”. The cultural trail in Hedehusene Cultural Park tells the story of Hedehusene. The cultural park thereby combines local history with an interactive playground.

Town park, church and local history

Hedehuset Cultural Centre is located in Hedehusene’s town park. The cultural history of the town is conveyed along the paths in Hedehusene’s town park. Det Grønne Loop runs through Hovedgaden and the town park, under the railway and onwards to Nærheden in southern Hedehusene. It leads back over the bridge to Hovedgaden and the station. In Hedehusene, cultural and historical traces of residential developments, industrial and craft buildings, village communities, road layouts and a gravel pit have been preserved. Kallerupstenen is a runestone dating from 825. Ansgarkirken was built in the old Romanesque style with a flat beamed ceiling and wheel-shaped chandeliers. Everyone is welcome at services in Ansgarkirken, including children.

Station and library

Hedehusene Library is centrally located opposite Hedehusene Station. Hedehusene got a station in 1847 in connection with the first railway in Denmark.
