Nature

The Čavle–Podrvanj–Grad Grobnik hiking route starts on foot in front of the Dom kulture Čavle and is 6.5 kilometers long each way. The Staza sv. Bartola follows the Čavle–Cernik–Cernički vrh–Čavle route and starts in the center of Čavle. The easy Hodeć do grada Grobnika trail also begins in the town center and is a 9.5-kilometer route.

The Staza sv. Bartola also includes the Cernički križni put; its stations are written in the Grobnik Chakavian dialect. Cernički vrh along this route is marked by three large concrete crosses and offers views over Grobnišćina and the Bay of Rijeka. Near Vela Peša, there are accessible climbing formations with routes for beginners and climbing schools. At Mali Kamenjak, you will find marked hiking approaches and rocky climbing routes.

The Biciklistička transverzala Riječkog prstena also passes through Čavle. It continues via Cernik and the ridge above Sušačka Draga to Sveti Kuzam.

Culture

Čebuharova kuća is a historic and tourist landmark in the center of Čavle. In the surrounding area, the Grobnički dondolaši preserve a bell-ringing tradition associated with the carnival season.

The local heritage also includes the Čavjanski kalići, traditional water facilities in the Municipality of Čavle. Historically, they supplied water for irrigation, livestock, and firefighting in the municipality. A regional specialty is Grobnički sir, an autochthonous hard sheep's cheese with a yellow color, full flavor, and characteristic small and large holes.
